Cut protection trousers protect the legs against injuries during work with a chainsaw. Tested according to EN 381-5, cut protection class 1, form A, the trousers protect, at a chain speed of up to 20 meters a second, where they should: from the hips to the ankle, on the front side of the cut protection trousers, between the outer fabric and the lining, a multilayer structure of loosely weaved, very long and fine, tear-resistant threads have been incorporated. As soon as the chain of the chainsaw cuts the outer material, it gathers the threads of the cut protection insert. These wrap around the drive wheel of the chainsaw and jam it. The Kuratorium für Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik (The Advisory Board for Forestry and Forest Technology) tests the cut protection trousers in accordance with the EN Standard 381-5. After successful tests, they go on to field testing. For this, professional forest workers wear the trousers in yearlong continuous operation and subsequently evaluate them. If the trousers perform successfully here, they obtain a FPA recognised verdict and a KWF professional stamp. Thereby, alongside the wearing comfort and the design, the durability of these products is also guaranteed, should the cut protection clothing be regularly cleaned. Coarse dirt should be removed directly after wear, otherwise the cut protection trousers can be washed with a colour detergent at 40° Celsius. Most important: spin drying and tumble drying is off-limits. With too strong rotation, the thread forms knots and lumps and cut protection is no longer guaranteed. To preserve the safety features of the cut protection trousers after washing, pull them into shape while wet and leave to air dry - do not iron! Cut protection trousers may be machine washed around 25 times. This corresponds to a wear time between one year and 18 months in professional use. In casual use they can be worn for up to a good five years.

Using a particular weaving technique of the polyamide fibres, CORDURA® is enormously abrasion-resistant and still soft to the touch. The flexibility of the CORDURA® strengthened parts is retained.
